Serie A Player Performance 2025/26 – Season Leaders Ranked
23rd March 2026
Serie A in 2025/26 has a fascinating new landscape. The old guard still operates at the top, but this season the data from Statz Leaders reveals a crop of newer names driving the stats – none more interesting than a certain Argentine teenager at Como.
Goals: Lautaro’s Dominance and Como’s Surprise Package
Lautaro Martínez leads Serie A for goals with 14, all from open play. He also leads shots on target (32), has the third-highest total shots (83), and has registered 18 goal involvements. He has missed 14 big chances too – but that is partly because Inter keep getting him into the box so frequently.
Rasmus Højlund at Napoli has 11 goals in his first season in Italy, 10 from open play, and is already showing the chemistry with Kevin De Bruyne that Napoli hoped for. De Bruyne himself has scored 3 penalties – Napoli’s designated spot-kick taker.
The breakout name of the season is Nico Paz at Como. The 20-year-old Real Madrid product leads Serie A for total shots (100), shots on target (39), and has 15 goal involvements. He is also among the top 5 for tackles. Como have found a generational talent and the data backs it up completely.
Assists: Dimarco’s Extraordinary Season
Federico Dimarco has 14 assists – more than double the next player on the list. He leads goal involvements overall with 20. The Inter left-back has been the most productive creator in Italian football this season and may be the best left-back in Europe on current form.
Defending: Genoa’s Midfield Engine
Morten Frendrup at Genoa leads Serie A for tackles (79) and tackles + interceptions (112). The Danish midfielder is the hardest-working press-engine in the division. Victor Nelsson at Hellas Verona leads interceptions (54) and clearances (200) – remarkable numbers for a club who have been deep in relegation trouble all season. Nelsson has essentially been a one-man defensive wall.
In aerial duels, Idrissa Touré at Pisa (124 aerial duels won) and Mateo Pellegrino at Parma (103) lead the charts. Pellegrino has the most total duels in the division (446) – a battering ram centre-forward who wins everything in the air. He also leads fouls committed with 68, which comes with the territory.
Discipline: Roma’s Problem Area
Gianluca Mancini at Roma leads yellow cards (9) and fouls committed (59) among outfield players. Álvaro Morata at Como has already picked up 2 red cards this season. Marin Pongracic at Fiorentina also has 9 yellows – the same as Mancini. For disciplinary betting angles, check the Statz Bet Builder.
The Como Story
It is impossible to look at the Serie A data without being drawn back to Como. Nico Paz leads shots and shots on target. His goal involvements (15) match Kenan Yildiz. Álvaro Morata is there in attack. Martin Baturina leads shot conversion at 35.7%. This is a club punching well above their weight and the numbers prove it.
