Davizi’s Devastating 6/9 Destroys Serbia as Czech Republic Cruise to Victory
Czech Republic won by 7 wickets (with 20 balls remaining) against Serbia at Scott Page Field in Prague. This was match 118 of 143 in the 2026 T20 International season, and it was utterly dominated by one man – Sabawoon Davizi, who produced one of the most complete all-round performances you’ll see at any level of the game.
First Innings – Serbia Post 160/9
Serbia won the toss and elected to bat, and Luka Woods made the decision look inspired. Woods was utterly destructive at the top of the order – 60 off just 27 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 222. He carried Serbia to 93/1 by the time he fell in the 8th over, and at that point a score north of 200 looked very much on the cards.
Braithyn Pecic (22 off 23) provided support during the opening stand, but once Woods departed, the wheels came off spectacularly. Alexander Dizija (13 off 13) and Leslie Dunbar (15 off 11) made starts without converting, and then Davizi ripped through the middle and lower order.
The damage was extraordinary. Davizi finished with 6/9 from his four overs at an economy of just 2.25. Six wickets for nine runs. Serbia collapsed from 95/2 to 160/9, with Matthew Kostic (7 off 19) grinding to a halt under relentless pressure. Only 67 runs came from the final 12 overs after Woods’ dismissal – a testament to Davizi’s stranglehold on the innings.
The supporting cast did their part too. Saqlain Saqib Mukhtar (1/26, econ 6.5) and Sudesh Wickramasekara (1/27, econ 6.75) bowled tidy spells, but this was the Davizi show.
Second Innings – Czech Republic Chase Down 161 With 20 Balls to Spare
Mohammad Ratul Khan anchored the chase with a composed unbeaten 51 from 51 balls (7 fours, 1 six). He was there from start to finish, providing the platform that allowed the hitters to go after the bowling.
Sahil Grover (5 off 7) was bowled early at 11/1, and Ritik Tomar (12 off 15) fell at 54/2, but neither wicket caused panic. Sazib Bhuiyan came in and smashed 29 off just 12 balls (1 four, 3 sixes, strike rate 242) to blow the chase wide open before being caught at 94/3.
Then Davizi walked out to bat. As if 6/9 with the ball wasn’t enough, he blasted an unbeaten 34 off 17 balls (5 fours, 1 six, strike rate 200) to finish the job in style alongside Ratul Khan. Czech Republic reached 161/3 in 16.5 overs – 20 balls to spare – for a comprehensive 7-wicket victory.
Statz MVP: Sabawoon Davizi (Statz Rating: 340.30)
This one isn’t even close. Sabawoon Davizi’s Statz Rating of 340.30 reflects an all-round performance of rare quality at any level. Statz calculates impact based on match context, and Davizi’s 6/9 with the ball single-handedly dismantled Serbia’s batting after Woods’ blitz, before his unbeaten 34 off 17 sealed the chase in emphatic fashion. A rating this high is genuinely extraordinary.

Turning Point
The dismissal of Luka Woods at 93/1 in the 8th over transformed this match. Woods had been batting on another planet – 60 off 27 balls – and Serbia looked set for 200+. But once Davizi removed him, the wheels fell off completely. Serbia lost 8 wickets for just 67 runs in the remaining 12.2 overs, with Davizi claiming 6 of those scalps for just 9 runs. From a position of dominance to 160/9 – that’s the difference one spell of bowling can make.
