Lahore Qalandars vs Rawalpindiz – PSL 2026, 27th Match Report
18th April 2026
Lahore Qalandars won by 32 runs
National Stadium, Karachi | 18 April 2026 | PSL 2026 – Match 27
Lahore Qalandars ended a run of poor form with a commanding 32-run win over Rawalpindiz at the National Stadium, Karachi. A brilliant 84 from Fakhar Zaman and 63 from Mohammad Farooq put up 210 on the board – and despite a stunning late cameo from Saad Masood, Rawalpindiz never truly threatened to chase it down.
Lahore Build a Platform
Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Farooq set the tone in a 121-run opening stand. Fakhar was the aggressor early, finding his timing quickly in the clear Karachi evening, and his 84 off 54 balls was the anchor the Lahore innings needed. Farooq was equally destructive – 63 off 41, including five sixes – and the pair had Rawalpindiz reeling before the halfway point.
When both fell to Mohammad Amir inside the 19th over, Lahore were 195 for 4 with damage already done. Asif Ali finished with a brutal 14 not out off just 6 balls, and the total of 210 for 4 looked formidable from ball one. Full match details on Statz Cricket.
Mohammad Amir was the pick of the Rawalpindiz bowling with 2/25 from 4 overs at an economy of 6.25 – an impressive effort on a flat pitch. Raza Ullah also chipped in with 2/45, but the rest went for it. Cole McConchie conceded 37 from just 3 overs, while Daryl Mitchell leaked 47 from his 4.
Rizwan Falls Early – Chase Goes Cold
Rawalpindiz needed a flying start. They got the opposite. Shaheen Afridi removed Shahzaib Khan for 7 in the second over, then bowled Mohammad Rizwan for 9 next ball. The Rawalpindiz captain – and their most experienced batter – gone for single figures, and they were 17 for 2 inside three overs.
Yasir Khan tried to ignite the chase with a blistering 58 off 29 balls (strike rate 200), hammering six fours and three sixes. It was exactly what Rawalpindiz needed – but wickets kept falling around him. Daryl Mitchell managed only 11 from 15, Sam Billings 7 from 7, and Dian Forrester 8 from 10. When Yasir Khan fell at 89 on the board, the chase was already slipping.
Haris Rauf took 3/43 from his 4 overs to keep the squeeze on, while Usama Mir (2/29) and Sikandar Raza (1/24) added control from the spin end. Only Daniel Sams was wayward (48 from 4), the rest were tight when it mattered.
Masood Lights Up the End – But Too Late
Saad Masood delivered one of the innings of the PSL season with 54 off just 26 deliveries, including nine sixes. It gave the crowd something to cheer, but Rawalpindiz needed 47 from the last over when the ninth wicket fell at 174. They fell 32 short at 178 for 9, with Mohammad Amir and Asif Afridi unbeaten at the close.
