The Premier League takes a breather, but the numbers don’t lie. Goals: Haaland in a League of His Own
Erling Haaland leads the Premier League goalscoring charts with 22 strikes, 19 of those coming from open play. The man simply does not miss – 47 shots on target, the highest in the division, with a shot conversion rate of 27.1% for those balls he does hit on target. He has also missed 24 big chances, which tells you how often Manchester City are getting him into dangerous positions.
Igor Thiago at Brentford has been the season’s surprise package. 19 goals, 37 shots on target, a 27.1% conversion rate – and 6 penalties scored. The Brazilian has been one of the bargains of the season. João Pedro at Chelsea sits third on 14 goals, all from open play, with 19 goal involvements in total. Viktor Gyökeres at Arsenal has 11 goals from 43 shots – a 25.6% conversion rate that ranks among the best in the division.
Assists: Bruno Fernandes is Unmatched
Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United has 16 assists this season – double that of anyone else in the top 5. His 23 goal involvements (7 goals, 16 assists) make him the league’s most complete creative player by numbers. He has also hit the post 5 times, which tells you the volume he is operating at. Defending: Forest’s Midfield Monster
Elliot Anderson at Nottingham Forest has been extraordinary defensively. 426 total duels – the highest in the division. 235 duels won. 134 tackles and interceptions combined. He has done it all while also committing 44 fouls, which explains his disciplinary record. João Palhinha leads outright tackles with 95, while Moisés Caicedo tops interceptions with 51.
In the air, no one touches Virgil van Dijk. Liverpool’s captain leads aerial duels won (138), clearances (222), and overall duel win percentage (75.1%) in the entire Premier League. He remains the best centre-back in England by numbers.
Defensively, James Tarkowski at Everton has been a workhorse: 40 blocks (most in the league), 119 aerial duels won, and a duel win rate of 69.7%. Cristian Romero at Spurs has picked up 9 yellow cards and 2 reds – the most dismissals of any outfield player – which will be a concern for Thomas Frank.

Yerson Mosquera at Wolves leads yellow cards with 10, closely followed by Lewis Dunk (Brighton, 9), Cristian Romero (Spurs, 9), and Moisés Caicedo (Chelsea, 9). João Gomes at Wolves is the league’s most-fouling midfielder with 56 fouls committed.
