Bundesliga Tips 2025/26 Preview

Bayern Munich returned to the top of the Bundesliga last season, usurping Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen to finish 13 points clear. The big question for the 2025/26 campaign is whether Bayern will cruise to another dominant title or if Borussia Dortmund or Leverkusen can mount a serious challenge. One of the season’s most exciting storylines is Hamburger SV’s return to the top flight after seven years in the second tier, setting up a long-awaited derby with St. Pauli — their first in the Bundesliga for 14 years. UK viewers can also look forward to Friday night Bundesliga action, with the BBC set to cover this clash and other key matches. Check that out as well as Statz.ai projections for the Bundesliga 2025/26 table and outright market tips.

New Signings

The headline signing of the summer in Germany comes at Bayern Munich, as former Liverpool winger Luis Díaz arrives to replace the departing Kingsley Coman. Bayern have also strengthened defensively with the addition of Jonathan Tah from title rivals Bayer Leverkusen. Leverkusen, meanwhile, have invested more in youth, bringing in Ernest Poku, Malik Tillman and Jarell Quansah to bolster their squad. At Borussia Dortmund, excitement surrounds the continuation of the Bellingham lineage, with Jobe Bellingham looking to follow in the footsteps of his elder brother Jude. Elsewhere, Eintracht Frankfurt may have pulled off one of the shrewdest deals of the window by signing Japan international Ritsu Dōan from Freiburg.

Bayern Munich’s Title To Lose

With little surprise, the Statz.ai model predicts Bayern Munich to romp to the Bundesliga title with an even bigger margin of victory (15 points) than last year. Leverkusen are expected to hold onto second place, despite selling a number of key players and losing manager Xabi Alonso. The gap behind them should be much closer this season. Dortmund are projected in third and Frankfurt just behind in fourth. Eintracht Frankfurt to maintain their top four finish may offer best value in the outrights. Only six points could separate second to fourth with a further three points back to Stuttgart and then same again for sixth-placed Leipzig. Removing Bayern Munich from the picture may be the best way of approaching the season outright markets.

Promoted Teams

As well as the long-awaited Hamburg derby to enjoy with Hamburger SV’s return, FC Köln are also back in the top division. Their clash with Bayer Leverkusen adds another derby date to circle in the Bundesliga calendar. The return of two historic clubs is more than enough to whet the appetite for the league’s imminent kick-off.

Relegation Candidates

Bucking the trend seen across much of Europe, the two promoted sleeping giants should have enough to avoid an immediate return to the second tier. Instead, Staz.ai projects Heidenheim, who only narrowly escaped relegation via the playoffs last season, to finish bottom of the Bundesliga this time around. Joining them could be Hamburg rivals St. Pauli, with a lack of goals likely to be their downfall, although the margins are tight with little separating them from Augsburg in 16th and 17th.
