Bundesliga: Most Interesting Stats of the Season so far.
28th January 2026
As the German Bundesliga passes the halfway point of the 2025/26 season—and Bayern Munich finally have a defeat to their name—it feels like the perfect moment to dive into the numbers. From the best teams to the top-performing individuals, here are the most eye-catching and interesting statistics from the Bundesliga so far this season, all brought to you by the one-stop shop for stats, Statz.ai.
Top Teams
It comes as little surprise to see Bayern Munich leading many of the key statistical categories in the league, including goals scored, where they are averaging almost double the next highest sides—3.8 goals per game compared to 2.1 for both Frankfurt and Hoffenheim. The Bavarian giants also top the charts for shots, shots on target, corners, and passes.
Despite their recent defeat to Augsburg, there appears to be no clear challenger to dethrone them this season. Even Borussia Dortmund, who have also suffered just one league defeat, lag behind significantly in attacking output. The Black and Yellows rank only 11th in the league for shots (12.5 per game), improving slightly to 7th for shots on target (4.8), while Bayern sit comfortably in front on 19.3 shots and 8.6 shots on target per game respectively.
It’s the teams near the bottom of the table who rank highest for tackles made, with Gladbach, St. Pauli, and Wolfsburg all averaging over 17 per game. Among the top-half sides, Frankfurt lead the way with 16.8 tackles per match, closely followed by Leipzig (16.3) and Hoffenheim (16.1). They also commit the most fouls in the league, averaging 15.1 per game—almost two more than the next highest team.
Top Individuals – Best Finishers
Harry Kane is once again dominating the Bundesliga goalscoring charts, and his conversion rate is just as impressive. The Bayern striker is converting 28.8% of his chances—second-best among forwards in the league—while averaging just over four shots per game. The only player attempting more shots per match is Stuttgart’s Deniz Undav, whose volume has him second in the scoring charts on 11 goals, ten behind Kane, despite converting a more modest 17.5% of his efforts.
Kane’s place in the starting XI is far more secure than that of many of his attacking rivals, with the Bayern forward having played around 500 minutes more than several of the league’s other most efficient finishers. Statistically, the top finisher is Freiburg’s Vincenzo Grifo, who has converted a remarkable one-third of his chances for six Bundesliga goals. Dortmund duo Maximilian Beier and Karim Adeyemi, along with Leipzig’s Yan Diomandé, complete the rest of the top five finishers in the league.
Most conspicuous by his absence is Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy, who does not feature in the top 20 finishers, despite three of his teammates ranking inside the top ten. The Guinean striker has work to do in the second half of the season, and if the Ruhr club can get their main man firing, the title race may yet avoid becoming the procession many expect. Converting some of those big chances would be a good place to start, with Guirassy having missed the joint-most in the league (10)—ironically alongside Harry Kane and his teammate Luis Díaz.

French international Michael Olise may only be converting 15.4% of his chances, but it hasn’t stopped him making a decisive impact. With 10 goals and a league-leading 14 assists, his 24 goal involvements leave him just one behind Harry Kane’s 25.
Best Duel Winners
At the other end of the pitch, centre-backs winning their duels can be just as decisive in determining results. In the 2025/26 Bundesliga, Wolfsburg’s Moritz Jenz tops the chart for duel success, winning an impressive 70.7% of his battles. While Hamburg’s Luka Vušković and Stuttgart’s Jeff Chabot lead in terms of volume—both averaging over ten duels per game—they also post strong success rates of 69.7% and 66.7% respectively.
Further down the list, Patrick Mainka and Danilho Doekhi deserve notable mention, ranking sixth and seventh while having played every minute of the Bundesliga season so far for Heidenheim and Union Berlin.

Winning duels isn’t everyone’s strong suit—particularly at Hoffenheim, who occupy the top three spots for fouls committed. Wouter Burger, Tim Leemans, and Bernardo have racked up 38, 37, and 33 fouls respectively, combining for a total of 108 infractions.
