Aston Villa vs Young Boys: Betting Preview
27th November 2025
Aston Villa are white hot in the Premier League, winning six of their last seven games.
Unai Emery may take the opportunity to rest some of his key players on Thursday (17:45 GMT) against Young Boys, the Swiss outfit that have conceded ten goals in their opening four Europa League outings.
If he does, will the Villains have enough firepower in reserve to claim victory at Villa Park?
Aston Villa v Young Boys Preview
Within their last seven Premier League matches, Villa have scored two or more goals on five occasions – Morgan Rogers has hit form, while the likes of Emiliano Buendia and Donyell Malen have also contributed tremendously.
In the Europa League, Emery has mixed and matched his starting eleven, with Rodgers playing 268 minutes of the available 360 and Buendia 235.
The Villains have won three of their four outings in the Europa League, keeping a trio of clean sheets, to frank their excellent return to form domestically.
Young Boys, meanwhile, are in the midst of a title battle in Switzerland. But their form in the Europa League has somewhat suffered as a consequence:
· Young Boys 1-4 Panathinaikos
· Steaua Bucharest 0-2 Young Boys
· Young Boys 3-2 Ludogorets
· PAOK 4-0 Young Boys
With other sides putting Young Boys’ defence to the sword, will Aston Villa follow suit on Thursday?
Aston Villa vs Young Boys Best Bets
The bookmakers rarely get their match winner pricing wrong, and they have made Villa a 4/7 chance here even with a -1 goal handicap.
This is a game that the bookies think Villa will dominate in every attacking metric available, which makes it very difficult to find value – unless, somehow, you think Young Boys are going to upset the applecart.
Something that the Statz data revealed has caught the eye, though. Boubacar Kamara has drawn 16 fouls in his last ten games, which we can feasibly round up to two given the nature of this contest.

His fellow Europa League regular, Evann Guessand, could also be a live player in this market. He’s drawn ten fouls from ten games, but remember that Villa should dominate the game here and have Young Boys under the pump for much of it.
Kamara and Guessand can be backed separately at odds of 4/6 and 4/5 with Betfair to draw two or more fouls, while the double is available at 1.65/1.
· Boubacar Kamara & Evann Guessand – 2+ fouls drawn each
· Double pays 1.65/1
Aston Villa vs Young Boys Betting Tips
Donyell Malen could be the focal point for bets here.
He continues to impress when coming on as a substitute in the Premier League, but played the full 90 minutes in Villa’s last Europa League game against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Malen scored for the Netherlands during the international break as well, so he looks like a prime selection on Thursday – assuming, of course, he starts the game.

We think he will. The Dutchman is averaging 2.4 shots over his last ten games and one shot on target, but we’re backing Malen to improve on that here.
Take him to have four or more shots and two or more shots on target; that’s a bet builder double priced at 23/20 with bet365.
· Donyell Malen – 4+ shots & 2+ shots on target (23/20)
